The ending lind of saved it for me.
The beginning had a lot of pacing problems. It felt disjointed and rushed to get thibgs going. I also thing there was to much tell don't show. I do not understand why Finn felt anything for Briee or why she would care for him.

But the ending had alot of turns and twist and I will definitely read book 2.

I loved this!! Didn’t expect to enjoy it so much but really liked the storyline and characters. Although there were some parts where the MC was a bit dumb and should have put two and two together. Loved the ending and defo going to read book 2 now!

The writing was very simple and really easy to read, but lacked a lot of description and world building. I never really had a clear picture of the world and magic system, there was a lot of explanation through our main character learning about the world, but mostly tell and not show. This felt like so many other popular YA fantasy books I’ve read before, I can definitely see what books it is heavily inspired by *cough ACOTAR*

I was easily sucked in and couldn’t put it down, especially the last 20% of the book was insane. I had the main plot reveal figured out, but there was still A LOT that surprised me. I’m definitely going to continue the series to see what else of my predictions come true!
