A great source for history into Formula one and getting to understand the politics behind teams, and world champions. F1 is a truly fascinating sport and this was such a fun way to learn about the sport and those who have given their all for their love of the sport. It gives you a better appreciation for the tradition that is Formula 1.

In the world of F1-related books, this is just okay. The illustrations are really neat, I like the focus near the end on the future of the sport, and I did actually learn some history, but overall the book isn't necessarily trying to be A Book, so it doesn't end up being one. You can definitely feel Will Buxton's voice the whole way through, so it's a lot of repeating the same obvious stuff. Frequently, it seems that fitting the text into a specific space on the page won out over writing it to make any sort of sense, but I guess that's typical for a coffee table book. I think it's worth paging through for your favorite drivers or eras, but it's not one for a full read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Clarkson Potter/Ten Speed Press for this ARC e-copy of Grand Prix by Will Buxton.

As a rookie enjoyer of Formula One and a fan of the Netflix documentary series featuring the author, I was thrilled to be approved for this ARC.

Will Buxton has a penchant for storytelling already, and being able to read this in his voice only made this book more enjoyable — and that’s saying something, because Grand Prix: An Illustrated History of Formula 1 is simply outstanding in its own right.

If you are looking for the closest thing Formula One has to a Bible, this is it. Full of top-notch explanatory graphics, expertly organized charts, and stylish illustrations, this meticulously organized book is truly a must-have for F1 fans everywhere. I’m already planning on purchasing a hard copy of this book once it officially releases to the public myself.
