Take this review with a grain of salt. I am not the age group that this book is directed to (its a YA and I am in my 30s)
HOWEVER
I was plain annoyed the whole time reading it. It was very Valley high girls try to solve a murder. There were also some scenes that I personally found unbelievable. Why would high-school aged kids be at a bar and then get themselves mixed up with a mob like group.
I was not a fan of the ending as well.

SPOILERS
The whole time this one character is missing and/or pressumed dead. At the very end this guy is found. Just seems like a plot point that was just thrown in there.
Maybe if you are more in the YA age group, you might enjoy this, but I did not!

Overall, this was a likable book, but not anything special. I liked that it was written in first person, with multiple POV's. The chapters were short and alluring. The flashbacks to the past were done really well, it was the perfect amount and done at the right times in the story.

Although I enjoy multiple POV's, these were a bit confusing at times. A couple of the girls were so similar I had a bit of a hard time keeping up with whose perspective I was reading from. I also found pretty much all of the characters hard to like.

The twists at the end felt predictable and underwhelming, but keeping in mind the audience this was intended for, I still think this was a likable read and a YA would enjoy this plot!

mysterious tense medium-paced

Honestly, it was like a promising dinner that turned out to be a soggy microwave meal. The premise had me hooked, but the plot twists were about as surprising as a cat in a tree.

Literally I'm not even joking this book was a mess.

good listen. basic storyline. so many characters and names but the different narrators helped the separation.
resolution was kind of out of no where? but it wasn’t bad. i enjoyed the story.
