Commendably researched and an enthralling portrait of these unfortunate women. Their will to survive such hardships is difficult to comprehend.

It took me an age to finish this, as for some reason I put it aside for almost two years.

Anyway, I enjoyed this book, it gave Polly, Annie, Elizabeth, Catherine and Mary-Jane their dignity back, and most importantly it didn’t dwell on their deaths. Consequently their lives define them; their deaths do not.

Not "just prostitutes". They were women who were murdered.
This audiobook was very interesting and put the victims ahead of the murderer.
I enjoyed hearing about each of the five women's lives and to put them and their names above the crappy man who murdered them. None of their lives were easy and their stories are worth hearing.
We really should stop sensationalizing bad men and placing blame on women who had bad lives.
