Another non-fiction book where the author tries to force a narrative regardless of whether there is actual proof of their position or not.  Speculation and lurid conjecture are presented as more established.  Also excessive use of examples or comparatives such that by the end the listener is no longer sure of the point of the statements.

I read this alternating between audiobook and hardback. The book is well crafted, bridging historical research with contextual assumptions inferred from historical clues. 

The author’s style is engaging and accessible. The content sheds light on a common subject but through a distinct new lens, frame and with care / compassionate for the women involved. The narration for the audiobook is particularly well done.
