Even though there were so many characters to keep track of in this book (as per usual), it was much more manageable and easier to follow than other Shadowhunter books. The beginning of this book was slow but the last half of it made up for it. This book made me appreciate the interconnected nature of these books more than any other. I loved the little connections to the other books in the series, it really made me appreciate how big the world is in this franchise.

My first read of 2022 and I'm happy to say that it was not a disappointment.

I love every single character in this series which is surprising for me because I hated them in the first book lol. Maybe even Sebastian/Jonathan. Just a little bit.

All my babies got the happy ending they deserve. Do I even need to say anything about Tessa and Jem in the epilogue? I love them so much, god.

The plot was so seamless and continuous and I am really glad I read this awesome series.
I didn't realize just how attached to these characters I was until the ending of this book. I'm really excited to read about Emma and Julian next.

This series isn't bad but it is very YA.
I do love how some characters form Clare's Infernal Devices series come back/are mentioned.
Her two other shadowhunter series are better, in my opinion. You should definitely read all these books in chronological order though.

This was a solid ending to the series, a series I enjoyed overall, but it wasn't a great ending.  On the one hand there was less of the "characters doing stupid things" issues I've had on and off with the series.  The story was well-developed and moved along at a good pace.  The ending though, left me feeling rather flat.  She took a long time building into the final climactic moment, and then it was over abruptly.  It also felt like the last 10-15% of the book was about characters reflecting on their feelings, trying to leave characters in specific places, and even opening up new loose ends that I'm assuming she addresses in other books in the spinoff series.  This part felt like it dragged and bled away any excitement I had about the climax.  The ending could have been punchier and faster paced while preserving the outcomes for these characters we've followed and rooted for for so long. Overall though a solid generally well-written ending to a fun and enjoyable series.

“There are memories that time does not erase... Forever does not make loss forgettable, only bearable.”

Wow. This book was definitely the best one in TMI, and that is because I was loving what CC was doing here.
Somehow, she managed to simultaneously set up TDA, have TID references, and conclude TMI in a really satisfying way. I am so excited to see Emma and Julian again.
The length of this book did make sense, but at the same time, it was really long and it did drag at times. There was so much action, and so many characters that I loved that came back in this book, it was actually really something.
The past and the present and the future all collided in this book and I could not be happier. Especially with Jem coming back in the first half of the book, I was pleasantly surprised that it was not an epilogue kind of thing. And this book was also dark, and I actually really felt for Sebastian at the end, how he reverted back to a ghost of what he could have been.
It took me 8 years, but I have finally read the entirety of The Mortal Instruments, and now I can't wait to continue with The Dark Artifices and The Last Hours!!

What an adventure I just had read the conclusion of The Mortal Instruments and
reading The Infernal Devices at the same time made it an even better experience because this book features characters from that trilogy and explains the ending as well.

Also, in this book we are introduced to new characters that we also get perspective on. Emma Carsteirs and the Blackthorns. The truth is that I was captivated with these new characters and imagine my excitement when I found out that the next trilogy is theirs.

I hate the clave even more. I loved Jace and Clary, how their relationship has developed and how they have matured throughout each book. Although I did get to despair with the "don't touch me, I don't want to hurt you". I loved Sizzy, I think it's a relationship that has slowly developed, something that made me scream for what happens approaching the end. Malec are so cute and despite all the obstacles they've faced, I'm happy for them. They are my favorite couple of the whole series.

We had some deaths that I didn't see coming and Sebastian became a character, yes, interesting but unbearable. I did get to feel bad for him at the end though.

A book with battles, deceit, sacrifice, love and betrayal. I loved this book too much and I need more.

i’m literally hugging the book and crying right now
