It took me multiple times starting this book to be able to finish it. Not because it was bad but I was starting it during tough times in my life. The book itself was good, it was intense at times and I am happy that they at least were able to find a somewhat happier ending in the epilogue than on the last chapter. It also left me with more questions than answers but I won’t get into details about those for fear of spoiling anything for anyone.

Man I hate that I sort of liked the ending to this

Book 6 of the Mortal Instruments series

The final installment of the series. Clary and her friends face their greatest enemy, Clary’s brother. He is on the move and turning Shadowhunters into demons forcing people to fight their loved ones. Everything will be sacrificed in this war with the fate of the world resting in Clary’s hands.

My thoughts: I am really impressed with this authors writing. They completely immerse you within the magical world and the way the characters and creatures are described is so detailed I felt like I could clearly see the battles in my mind. The story is intricate with lots going on but the series is wrapped up without any loose ends. I feel a sense of closure having finished this book which I need when I’m finishing a fantasy series.

I would highly recommend this to a YA reader. My teenager has already taken these from me and added them to her TBR.

a pretty satisfying conclusion to the mortal instruments series and the main group feels like a solid unite throughout.
my one gripe with this book is there are a lot of cuts to emma carstairs and julian blackthorn in the story. while it’s good that cassie clare sets up her new characters for her upcoming trilogy i could’ve done with a little less of them and more of the main cast that we’ve been following for the past 5 books.

Such an emotional roller coaster. I loved every word of this finale to TMI. There were points when I had to out it down because of information dumps here and there. My second favorite of the series and every laugh and tear is worth it.

This is tied with City of Lost Souls for my favorite TMI book. Overall it’s a great book, I love the characters so so much.

OK what an epic conclusion to an epic series. I just can't
