It’s a great book if you are planning to get into writing, so read only if you are!

Anne Lamott writes in a really honest, funny way about life and writing. Lots of little quips and one liners to share with people when they are feeling low, about the complexity, the absurdity, and the beauty of life, and the opportunity to experience it now as a human being. I'll refer to this book often, sharing passages with friends. Great for anyone who is interested in writing anything in their lifetime, whether it is a dissertation, a novel, film script, music, poetry, short story, etc.

Being enough was going to have to be an inside job.

I automatically think that closing down is safe, but that really staying open and loving is safer, because then we’re connected to all that life and love.

Quick wit and beautiful, inspiring advice. My dad bought this for me when I was younger and it's one of my most treasured possessions. Definitely one of my favorite books on writing.
