This is another great book in the series and it is getting more intense with every book!

I loved Sensei in the first book and this book was even better for him! He is such an intense character that is completely loyal and honorable to those he believes in. He was extreme in his torture methods and I would hate to be on his bad side!

Spinner was absolutely awesome and I loved her spunk and forwardness. She had such a great personality that you could see getting her into trouble at times but at the same time she could get away with so much when it came to Sensei but in a good way. Her chemistry with Sensei was through the roof and I loved the two of them together!

I had no idea how the Yakuzzo seemed to gain so much power when the powers that be did not want them in the US yet the still managed to pay off certain officials to get what they wanted around town. They were also very ruthless and would bring down anyone that crossed them.

I was shocked at one of the events at the garage and I was very grateful for Spinner’s brothers!

I liked the two police officers Brody and Grier and I hope we get more of them through the series.

The end was incredibly tense with the events between all of the groups and I was so mad at one turn of events until we learned the truth!!

Such a great read and I am looking forward to the next one!

This is the second book in The Chicago Defiance series and it seriously is just as good as the first.
I’m absolutely in freaking love with Ayla, her straight forward take no BS attitude is refreshing and Sensei has such a beautiful soul. I love that there was no unnecessary drama (club girls etc) it has a heap of action, suspense and a whole lot of sexiness.

This book had me turning pages so fast, my heart pumping and at times it was because of the steamy connection between Sensei/Raiden and Sass/Ayla and other times it was because of the intense things going on, which I won’t mention too much because I don’t want to give too much away.

Sensei and Sass are complete opposites, and that confuses him in a way. Because their connection is very strong. He longs for her when she’s not around, and when she is they can’t keep their hands off each other. Sass has a very bold personality, she just says it like it is and doesn’t take slack from anyone. And like Sensei says, she talks like a teenage boy. You can see how she got the name Sass. But she grew up without a mother, and two younger brothers to torment her. She works in her father’s Auto Repair Garage with all men and has had to learn to stand her ground. I love Sass!!! She is a great character!!! But Sensei doesn’t know what to make of her, but he’s drawn to her.

But with the Yakuza around, and his family hiding out at the club, he has got to stay focused. But no matter how hard he tries, it all comes back to Sass!!

Once again, we see the beauty of the brotherhood in this book. I love how well K E Osborn portrays this. How tight that bond really is, and how they are willing to die for each other. Plus we get a hint at who the next book will be about!! I can’t wait!!

I LOVED this book!!!! Between the love story and steaminess, and the level of action/adventure!! The book totally ROCKS!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Who says opposites do not attract? in the second book of the Defiance MC we see that opposites really do….

In Penance we learn the story of Sensie. He is the epitome of a biker cool, broody, and one hell of a bad boy. We get to learn not only his history, but the heartbreaking story of what happened to his mom while she was still married to his biological father. With this we learn that his family is hiding from the Yakuza and just where he lies in with all of this. The twist and turns with that is enough to leave your head spinning.

Enter the beautiful tom boyish Ayla. She is the complete and total opposite to Sensie. Where he is quiet and keeps to himself she is sassy and has no problems putting people back in their places. She works in a mans world and has no problem sticking up for not only herself, but others when needed.

The chemistry between these two is amazing. They both there is something there, but also know they have a lot on their individual plates. The roller coaster you are on while reading their story is so worth it. The different characters are all well written and as I have stated before I can not wait to read the next in the series.

I really liked the first 60-75% of this book - and then it stopped being a romance and started to just read as MC - which is fine but it was strange. I really liked Raidan and Ayla - both were quick and witty and sexy but I wanted more of the pair of them instead of just one storyline. This was a surprisingly spicy/ kinky story but without turning into overt erotica. Definitely interested to see where the overarching story goes next!

EDIT: I think they might be one of my favorite couples in the series after seeing them in other books - plus who doesn't love a hot mechanic like Sass??
