3.4 AVERAGE

Was this written by the same person?
I'm not normally harsh in reviews, but this book was so shockingly bumbling, especially compared to what I remembered of Mistress of Pleasure (which, granted, I read three months ago... but still).
I kept turning pages waiting for it to improve; but even when the de Maitenons showed up in the last 15% of the book, nope. All that did was make it feel like I was a fly on the wall at couples therapy.
I've only read these two books by Delilah Marvelle, but based on the dramatic difference in quality I won't risk a third.

In Night of Pleasure, Delilah Marvelle does a marvelous job taking me back during a time, where women wore those beautiful gowns and men tried to sweep those women off their feet.  In the case of Derek (Viscount Banfield) and Miss Clementine Grey, Derek has no idea he is supposed to marry Clementine until he meets her for the first time, while his father is ill.   He makes a horrible impression at first with her, and she doesn't want anything to do with the arranged marriage to Derek.  Derek has to wait until Clementine is at age and he tries everything to get himself ready for her when they do get married.

I give this book 4.5 moons and recommend it to readers out there that love historical romance.

I love Delilah's writing, it's true that we're friends, but one of the reasons I was drawn to her is her bravery when it comes to her words.

She doesn't shy from controversy or difficult subject matter. I love that.
