I enjoyed this collection of short stories just as much as the full length Sherlock Holmes novels I had previously read. They are quick reads and although have similar occurrences in some of the stories they each had something different as the main appealing factor. I'd recommend this compilation to any Sherlock fan and also to any lover of a good mystery.

Even to one who’s never read the books nor seen the movies, everybody knows of the legendary Detective Sherlock Holmes and his faithful, intimate friend Doctor John Watson (heh, sure, friend

fun, but the full-length mysteries work a lot better

Didn't expect the KKK to appear but whatever

I enjoy the short length of the individual adventures of the arrogant and oh-so-British Mr. Holmes. Who doesn't?

A collection of 12 short stories. I love Sherlock Holmes, I promise I do. However, I found these short stories lacking. With each story being around 20 to 30 pages each, the sudden ending of each story left me feeling like "Is that it?" I felt unsatisfied. It was missing red herrings, character development, and the thickening of a plot. Plus, each story almost begins the same way and a formula starts to appear that each story follows. I truly love full length Sherlock mysteries. If you are looking to begin reading Sherlock novels, this should not be the place to start, it may leave a bad first impression. Sherlock is where the whole mystery genre began, and these short stories may leave you with not a true picture of who and what he truly was.
