Arguably the most widely beloved collection of Sherlock Holmes cases, I knew there was a good reason that I came back to this collection first.
If you’ve already read this collection before, I highly recommend the dramatized for radio version your second go through. All in all, a set of beloved stories from my teenagedom that I was happy to read again.

This was a great read. I enjoyed every story although I do have some favorites. Holmes and Watson have the best bromance and I loved their interactions. I believe Sherlock Holmes is one of the more interesting literary characters I've read. He's brilliant, of course, but also eccentric and has a strange sense of humor that makes him very loveable. Most of the "crimes" he investigated really kept me guessing, and it was a lot of fun solving the crimes along with him.
The deeper exploration of Sherlock and Watson's characters, along with the collection of short stories, made for an overall enjoyable listen. As you would expect with short worries some story lines were more interesting than others, but the varying story lines didn't detract from the overall enjoyment, as you still got to know the two main characters.

i enjoyed this more than the first two. i really enjoy the way they’re written from watson’s perspective and just plucked from different times in their friendship. SO fun. sherlock is actually a very fun personality in the books, moreso than i would’ve thought considering the time. some really good stories and then some really not good stories lol.
not a fan of racism nor the random incest sprinkled into the stories.

A collection of short stories about the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes written from the perspective of his companion, Watson. Overall, I enjoyed it. It can be quite repetitive. I expected it to be more mysterious and a little bit like a thriller, but it's mostly just Sherlock's attention to details and how he connects them to solve a mystery. It takes almost the whole chapter to explain the details of the case and the last two pages are usually the resolution, which is often unsatisfactory

Me encanta!
