This bok was really just OK. Set after the Governor's death, there isn't that much action. Sure there is a "super herd". The best part was probably Meredith (introduced at the end of the prior book) leading the herd away from Woodbury while also (unfortunately) killing herself. I would think that during the apocalypse you would become wary and cautious (to say the least). Lilly not only sets out to rescue a group of survivors and brings them back to Woodbury. She also doesn't trust Bob's immediate dislike of the minister that leads them. So, you really don't feel too bad when she is almost killed. All in all, I liked it. I guess. It was a quick read. But, I probably wouldn't
recommend if you are looking for a lot of action.

I don't know if it is the fact that I have gotten used to the style, or what specifically, but I can say that the Jay Bonansinga Walking Dead books really have been getting progressively more enjoybale! I loved Descent above all the rest! Lilly is leader of Woodbury, and we see yet again that the undead are not necessarily the biggest evil we could face. Kirkman fans should enjoy this tale, as should most zombie genre addicts like myself.

I gave this one an optimistic 4 stars.
I really wanted to love this one like The Fall of the Governor 1 & 2. It was lacking in a few areas.
There wasn't as much brutality as I have come to expect.
I found the middle of the story lagged and just didn't have a lot going on.
I still want to follow Lilly's story and let's hope the next one has way more gore and brutality.

2.5 stars. So many times I wanted to yell at the characters to not do what they're about to do. But really, would I be any smarter than them in a zombie apocalypse? Probably not.

I listened to this, and enjoyed it quite a lot...I could see it as an episode. Gave me a Dead fix as I don't have cable and am behind a season :(

It gets four stars cause it made me think Bob was dead… Nobody hurts Bob.
