I'm not really a fan of the zombie theme that is not directly stated and instead hushed up as the dead coming back to life though an electronic device that stimulates the brain. The return of Grelle is quite a surprise, as well as the revelment of the newest Reaper, and character development in Snake, Lizzie, and Ciel was good. I was not fond of the boat theme but it seems to be an allusion to the Titanic.

Rating Update 4/6/19- 3 stars to 2 stars. The Luxury Liner arc bored me, especially in this volume.

Update August 1, 2019
With the adoption of my new rating system, a two star rating is befitting. The original review and rating update from April 6, 2019, conform to the new rating system. Having read the synopsis of each chapter in this volume, I have conjured up visually certain scenes but cannot remember how I felt about the volume with certainty. I do recall being bored with the long fight scenes and the boat setting but what lifts this volume from a one to a two star rating is the character developments of Snake, Lizzie, and Ciel, and the humorous dialogue between Sebastian an Grell. This volume was very close to being rated at one star.

Oh wow oh wow oh wow. That was awesome - violent and bloody and awesome. Demons and zombies and shinigamis and knights, oh yes! And if you walk away from this volume not loving Lizzie then I don't know what to do with you, I honestly don't. Also, I adore Ronald Knox and I've even grown to adore the latest addition to the Phantomhive staff, Snake (---says Oscar). Next volume should be doubly great. Bring on the zombie cruise apocalypse!
