Great book. Loved it more than I thought. I know there are all kinds of creatures and people in the LOTU universe but these space like men from another planet didn't seem like something I would be interested but since it has Taliyah in it I figured I would give it a try. I was totally wrong about it not being my thing. It threw me for a loop. Love Taliyah and her strong personality and how she could make Roc melt. Loved their banter. It was so well written and kept me interested the whole time waiting to see what was going to happen next or what was going to come out of Taliyah's mouth. Great start to a new series. Hope to see more interactions between other LOTU characters.

This is such a satisfying start to a new series! I really enjoyed the early Lords of the Underworld books, but I started to get a little lost towards the end of the series as they traversed alternate realms with different timelines. The Warlord is set within the same universe, but it reads completely fine as a stand alone.

I loved that this was purely Taliyah and Roc's story without the interruption of other POVs or conflicts. However, the emphasis on viriginity in both Astra Planeta and Harpy lore was a bit uncomfortable and I really could've done without Roc checking Taliyah for her viriginity (especially since it's nonconsensual), but I've been wishing all of Showalter's books were more sex positive/inclusive.

Thanks to Harlequin and Netgalley for my ARC to review.

Wow what a great new spinoff series. So much going on and so much love building. I really loved every single page.

Love, Love, Loved It! I digested everything from the Lords of the Underworld series and hungered for more now I there's a whole new spin-off series with brand new Astra Lords to read about I can't wait for more ;)
Although I still think there should be a series devoted to the nine Kings of the Underworld staring with Rathbone! I guess Rathbone would be the second since William of the Dark went first, or was Baden the first? semantics shamantics.

I loved this book, Taliyah Skyhawk and Roc got to my heart, I really love a strong heroine and Taliya was one I absolutely loved. This is a very intriguing story, got me reading it non-stop, I even got the audio and the narrator Max Bellmore did a brilliant job can't wait for more books in this new spin-off series.

I loved their romance and the time table Taliyah and Alaroc were given. The first half of the book was a very short time period and it did seem a little rushed in places, but a pleasant read. If you like this author, it follows the same plot as her Lords of the Underworld series.

A kick ass new series!

Taliyah Skyhawk is the best of the best. In her long long life she has worked hard to become the General of the harpies, at all cost. So when Aloroc Phaethon and his men kill the General and imprison the harpies she does not hesitate to do what he demands of her. But being Taliyah she always has a back up plan, and a back up plan for the back up plan and so on. It's funny, sexy, action pact with a kick ass female that takes names while doing whatever she pleases and a mighty warrior that never hesitates to do what he must for his men, until Taliyah. She may just be his downfall, or his savior, either way it's unputdownable and I am salivating for more!
