Enjoyable and fast read.
Magnus and Alec relationship is cute but there is not a lot tension because books that come before.
Loved more Helen and Aline & Tessa but there wasn't much of TMI gang.
I will definitely read sequel.

Got just two words to explain this book- Malec Supremacy

When I started reading #tmi my supreme ship was #clace. And then as the books progressed and #malec came to be #clace took second place. In general, I don't think there is anyone who has read TMI who don't ship #malec .

Malec is just straight up adorable. And I mean, HELLO?! A kickass #shadowhunter hunter from one of the most powerful Shadowhunting families and an 800 year old all-powerful warlock?!? *Screams*

Now to the book. Red Scrolls Of Magic is the first book of The Eldest Curses and starts off with Malec vacationing in Paris. After a rather extravagant date which ends in a disaster, Magnus is visited by an old friend who brings him very bad news.

Magnus Bane is knows for his rather flamboyant nature fueled by glitter (which is why he is my spirit animal for I LOVE glitter) and alcohol. His easy going nature even while staring death in the face never seems to falter in this book. But what we do see is how smitten he is by Alexander (Alec) and how far he would go to protect him.

Alexander Lightwood is the exact opposite of his beloved. Closeted almost all his life, in RSoM we see him embracing his sexuality and becoming more confident and comfortable with who he is.

We also see some old characters we know and love cameoing in this book and several new characters as well.

The story was well written -as always- with a hint is spice and with a final plot twist that even I never saw coming!

The book ends in a cliffhanger (humph) welcoming back one of my favourite characters and in a bittersweet moment between Malec.

Lastly, I can't wait to see what the second book has in store for my favourite couple and characters of TMI series.

To start off I can’t believe I’m actually rating a Cassie Clare book 4 instead of a 5 a first for me. I love the shadowhunter world that Clare has created and her books are among my personal favorites. Overall I really did enjoy this book. It was much shorter then her other novels and dealt with main/secondary characters. I enjoyed seeing some characters we don’t see often in other roles. I believe why this was a 4 star novel for me was because this book takes place after City of Heavenly Fire and before the Dark Artifices novels. Due to that it deals with the start of issues that we already know gets resolved in TDA novels. So In all I felt as though we did get new content but that some was content we already knew about.
