Reading this book and taking the online test were required for one of my classes. I found it informative and the list of my 5 top strengths pretty accurate. I will likely revisit at least the portions of the book related to those 5 things in the future.
We had a workshop on this during our In-service; it was enlightening to see how our team works together!
Don't bother - I like the idea of working and living based on inherent "strengths" and would have enjoyed reading a book about that subject. Too bad the actual "book" ends after only a few chapters - the rest is a breakdown of 30 or so strength types, and the book directs you to a site where you can take a test to find out which 5 most fit you. However, you have to use the code provided with the book, and that code can only be used once. Bought the book used? You're SOL. Same if you checked it out of a library. Or if you want to share it with others.
Not exactly a fair deal. Don't waste your money, and read other books which cover the same subject more thoroughly without treating you like a sucker.

everyone in my internship got the same 6-7 strengths as their top 5 in different orders,
I got 5 completely different strengths
have a bone to pick with DON for alienating me

I read about StrengthsFinder in Anne Bogel's new book, Reading People. The book is a quick read, but only comes alive pairing it with your test results. I'm looking forward to digging more into my strengths and how to leverage them in my current freelance work.

A very interesting read. It's not so much a "Point A to Point B" book as it is a map. Much like a map, reading it cover to cover would be pointless. However, it guides you to places that are important for you specifically and then explains how to turn those strengths into even bigger strengths. Time will tell how much this helps me, but I have a lot to chew on.
This book is really just a discussion of different strengths. It doesn't really give too much information about applying your strengths. I haven't really delved into the website that much, but hopefully I will find more info. there.
