Usually I do not care for YA novels, but both books in this series were excellent. I couldn't put them down. Even having watched the tv show this Fall the plotting of the books kept me in suspense to what was going to happen. The books are far superior to the show and definitely should be read by fans and by everybody. I highly recommend.

Much better than the first two books, but still not as great as other LJ Smith books. I feel like we were constantly told that Cassie was suddenly brave and outspoken after the first but ok but we never really saw that in action until the end. The end confrontation was extremely rushed but I actually didn’t mind that. The romance was bland but I kind of expect that in teen witch books. I wish more time had been spent flushing out the other Circle members like Suzan and Deborah who were far more interesting.

It's so much fun, and it's so easy to read, couldn't put it down.

This is the second volume in The Secret Circle series. I actually had to go back and read a bit of the last book to recall what happened (I read it months ago and since I read so much sometimes I forget things). So I definitely wished the author would have done something to remind me of what had happened in the last book because I honestly couldn't remember. I actually liked this book better than the first. The characters are better fleshed out. I could actually remember all of the members of the circle and what makes them unique (such as Deborah being tough, Suzan always eating, etc). Even though I believe the show is better, these books are really growing on me.

The only thing I didn't like about this book is the end.
Yes, it's happy and I love happy endings, but it just felt so cheesy. Diana would give up Adam so quickly because of the rose stone? And Nick is totally fine with just being friends with Cassie? Not even a bit upset?
Maybe I'm just picky, but after the very dramatic scene before the end, I kind of wished it had just ended there. Overall much better than the original because of the characters and a more interesting plot.

"There is nothing frightening in the dark if you just face it."

I didn't expect it, but I liked this second installment more than the first one. Obviously, it's a fun and quick read, but the plot was engaging and I liked how everything wrapped up at the end.

The second part of the Secret Circle trilogy resume from where we stopped in the other book, the Captive. Now I still do not undersatnd why Harper Teen decided to slae the Captive with both The Initation and The Power that beyound me.

Anywho, the story takes us back when the Circle is dealing both with The dark energy that was released from the skull still looming and killing people and with Cassie still under Faye's felons grapped on her little finger all thanks to her hell-kittnes who spied on her and Adam secret moment.

What I absoultly love about this book, is L.J. Smith writing. So detail, so colorful and the when she writes anything that relates to the supernatural or dark elemenats she nailed it. That's why she's one of my favorite authors :D

I liked the characters alot and I must kods how far Cassie character have change from a meek, timid girl to a girl who is strong, smart and above all someone who can stand up to herself, which Im sure anyone could relate to.

Of course the reason I'm giving it a four star is because of Cassie choosing some of ther two love interests (Adam or Nick take your choice) and I'm quite not happy about it T.T

Give the Secret Circle a chance. You can't possibly not love it.
