My only complaint is this could’ve been about 2-300 pages shorter. Still an incredible story, but maybe because it’s a collaboration between King and Straub, it seemed to be a little long-winded and didn’t flow well in parts. I loved the last 1/4 of the book.

Would recommend.

This book made me company in the past few months. It is a dense and complex story, with very detailed and strong characters and a hero, our Jack-O, that proved to be a better person than most human beings. His friendship with Wolf is breathtaking and I can’t believe this story has come to an end. It may take you a while to get over the density, but as soon as you fall in love with the story and characters you won’t stop reading. I just feel an emotional emptiness with the end of The Talisman, but I will overcome it. Just like Jack-O overcame his struggles.

I think this is one of King’s best works and it’s probably because it has Peter Straub as a coauthor. It’s more of a dark fantasy and connects to the dark towers works.
