Great imagery makes for a memorable lesson about how to increase happiness for not only yourself but those around you. Perfectly explained for young minds to grasp the concept of empathy. My only complaint is that the illustrations are dated.

I like this book because it explains and no more blatant way what it’s trying to say.
I like that it gives practical application
I do not like how it doesn’t go into how filling other buckets even with good intentions can drain your own if your bucket is too low.
I also didn’t like how it made it seem like life will be great just because you fill another persons bucket

Great anti-bullying book for small children. Remember to be a bucket filler every day!

Imagine a world where every child heard this book numerous times throughout their childhood! It would be a wonderful place to live, wouldn't it?

This is a perfect book for Mom and Dad to read to children before they start the school year, creating a conversation about how we treat others, for teachers to share on the first day of school, and for any other organization that can help children get along better with other people.

I like this book so much, I may just have to start a Goodreads list called: Books perfect for the first day of school.

My six-year-old told me he read this in kindergarten.

He told me that the buckets are literal, so I’m not sure the book got their point across.

I found the book a little confusing too. Some of the logic wasn’t really clear: how does being mean spill your own bucket?
