So I'm disappointed. It could be, perhaps, me overdoing contemporary romance but I've looked forward to this for a long time, and while it had promise and all the sex positivity we love it just didn't connect for me. Yes, there was some hot stuff. But it's decidedly "not my kink" (most of it anyway) and I didn't really get the vibe I was supposed to from it? And the whole thing, once again, left me feeling kinda sad. A little wrung out, I guess. I never felt the tenderness I wanted to until very late in the book during
a super hot threesome - evidence that they could be vulnerable with another person, but not each other? That didn't feel right

And I actually like seeing the safe word work.

While this book didn't work quite as well for me as the first one in the series, overall I did enjoy this a good amount. I loved that Maia was an older heroine (43 I believe) and Zane was several years younger (he turned 30 early on in the book). And even better? This was their second chance. I also enjoyed how they both spent the years between their first and second chances low-key pining for one another. And though Zane is a rockstar, he definitely doesn't always act how musicians usually do in books. I definitely appreciated that change of pace.

One last thing I want to note: at times their relationship dynamic in the bedroom didn't work for me personally but I know others will find it enjoyable. There were just some specific k!nks that I'm not sure I connect with. To each their own.

An emotional and spicy dual POV and dual timeline story just hits different. Love this series. Need Ophelia’s book right this second.
