No me gusto para nada, Zan y Charlotte me parecían tan irritantes, aparte de que tuvo un final un poco predecible para mi.

This was given to me by the author for an honest review. What can I say? I expected this book to be good... but I was wrong. It was really , really good! It was wonderfully written! And I love the shifting of Point of views... It was flowing so smoothly!

Two years ago Lottie , along with her best friend Lexie, the brothers Zack and Zan were involved in a car accident that totally changed their lives. It was hard to move on , specially for Lottie who hovers the guilt when her best friend never recovered from brain injury. She vindictively blame the Parker brothers, Zack and Zan who's the driver that time.

Now in her freshman year, she and her twin brother thought of having a new start. So she thinks! Not until, fate or what she calls Karma that has been messing with her... she finds herself at the same college..and worse, same dorm with the brothers of doom as she called them. Life indeed is a bitch.

Zack and Zan . Both equally gorgeous . Zan is the quiet, "thinker" one and Zack is clearly the jerk. But he can easily get away with it and Zan tends to take in everything. He's the one who carried the heavy load of guilt . He's been in therapy ... and he's been trying to cope up. I feel so sorry for Zan..imagine , he's been "crushing" over Lottie for years and then when he had finally had the courage to talk with her.. that accident happen? Now, Lottie been blaming him and totally hate him and his brother! It made me say, how could this thing happen?! Why them?! Argh! This so frustrating. But wait? Why am I beginning to love it? Something is wrong with me?! Yes. Chelsea M. Cameron definitely got me hooked !

I love the way Ms. Cameron made their paths crossed ... like no matter how you tend to avoid each other , you always end up in front of each other. And she introduced me to Rumi quotes that I'm beginning to like!

This was especially true for both Zan and Lottie. I see hatred and loathe in Lottie's eyes but I see the complete opposite with Zan. He truly crazy adores Lottie yet he knows he got no chance ever! But he wanted her so much!

“Maybe this was another part of my punishment from God or “whoever". Putting this beautiful unattainable thing in front of me and then pulling it away.”

Zan took every chance to be near her which at first earned him backlashes and all the effs in the world! Well, Lottie is definitely someone who can't control her uhmmm... Strong verbal ability. She babbles .. a lot! She is feisty! And she HATES Zan!

I think it's a little of both Zan's persistence and fate that they ended up really talking in a civilized manner... And maybe Lottie could not really help but noticed that Zan is the lesser evil? She even created a Zan "not talking about " box at the back of her head! And she even made a list!

1. not talking about the rain incident
2. not talking about the towel incident
3. not talking about the you-showing-up-outside-my-door incident
4. not talking about the hand incident
Would she even include 5. the not talking about the kiss incident too? Which clearly both of them allowed to happen?! And for me one of the "swooniest" part of the book?! Just imagine, every time Lottie babbles she gets a kiss from Zan to make her stop?! And Lottie TALKS a lot!!!! I was grinning like a Cheshire cat the whole time!

As she get to know Zan, she is no doubt seeing a different Zan.. He's gentle.. He's deep ..He loves to read! (and quotes Rumi!) ... He recites poem even in his sleep?! ....and he's someone she wants! ( And I want Zan too!!! Where on earth can I find a guy like that?!! ) Oh how Lottie wished he's a different person! That could make everything uncomplicated. She feels that if she choose Zan she is betraying her best friend Lexie. But Zan makes her feel special and all the things she have never felt before.Poor Lottie, she is torned between her best friend and the guy she is supposed to despise but still wants!

But this confusion did not even stop Lottie from seeing Zan... even secretly seeing and hanging out with him! Plus a series of circumstances often lead them ...together. And boy ! I can say those are swoony moments! I love it when they are both lying down and just listening to Ella Fitzgerald's song, "Someone to watch over me" , I was blown! It was one magical moment for me! And with them holding hands? It was so romantic! ( dreamy sigh! ) There are all the elements to fall in love right? But there's always a reason to hold back?! The push and pull is sooooo frustrating!! Why can they just forget about everything and fall in love?!!! (Makes me wanna pull my hairs out!!!) But why am I still reading???? Because I love it!!

When Zan finally told Lottie what he's been hiding for a long time? That was... super WOW for me! I never thought about it before . But then Zan is really capable of doing that. I was surprised how Lottie took and accepted it. It was really admirable. And I heaved a long sigh of relief!

I love the way things and situations are resolved as the story moves on. There is just the right amount of emotion and never overwhelming. Deeper we fall taught me not only about finding love when you least expected it, but also not to dwell in our past regrets but to move forward by learning to forgive yourself and to accept that there are things we can't control.

If you are looking something swoony with just the right amount of drama and lot of wonderful lessons in love and life ... this book is definitely for you!

Wow, wow, wow!

Very good plot, amazing characters, some poetry and literature, a lot of friendship, some awesome quotes and a lot of love!!

This is what a college novel should be about! I really enjoyed reading this and I'm so looking forward to the next instalments!!

Some words about Charlotte - I don't like her nickname :D But everything else about here is great. She's the voice of reason, but she's also a bit crazy and her heart is huge.
Zan would do everything for his family, even lie, and after everything he's been through, he deserves happiness more than anyone.

I totally fell for Will and Audrey and I don't think I'll read the instalment about Katie but who knows... maybe I'll make up my mind later...

You definitely have to read this!

I’m glad I opened up Deeper We Fall. I read Cameron’s [b:My Favorite Mistake|17348308|My Favorite Mistake (My Favorite Mistake, #1)|Chelsea M. Cameron|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1370774562s/17348308.jpg|21441527] recently, and was pleased with what I read, but with Deeper We Fall, I can say that I won’t be shying away from other books by this author any time soon. Near the end of this book, I went out and bought book 2, even without reading the last few chapters at the time. Once I did finish, my impulse to buy Faster We Burn was justified.

What I enjoyed from this book was that it wasn’t exactly the typical “bad boy meets damaged girl” storyline that many books follow. There’s nothing ultimately wrong with that type of story, but seeing it changed up even the slightest helped me enjoy this one a bit more. Instead of the damaged girl having something happen directly to her, it was her friend that was on the receiving end of a bad situation. Yes, this did affect Lottie, but at a different level than many books. It’s a similar situation with Zan, the male lead.

Another thing I liked was the dual POV. I’m not always pleased with dual POV books because some authors can’t write two different voices or keep the points of view separate enough while keeping the flow of the story going. Deeper We Fall benefited from the dual POV, though. Seeing what’s going on in both character’s heads was great. I also think it was done in a way that didn’t reveal too much as to spoil the story. That’s another obstacle when getting into one of the antagonists’ (Zan’s) heads. It also allowed me to sympathize with Zan, when in a book from just Lottie’s POV, I might be “forced” to hate him like she seems to.

I don’t want to discuss the plot too much in this review. It’s best to let the reader find out about that through reading the book itself. There are some nice plot points enjoyed, some fun moments, and also some very emotional ones. There’s a lot of punch packed inside this book. I’m hoping that in the next book, I’ll find even more to like about this series.

DNF a few pages in.

Nope. This writing style will not work for me, especially not through 446 pages. I do recall reading [b:My Favorite Mistake|17348308|My Favorite Mistake (My Favorite Mistake, #1)|Chelsea M. Cameron|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1370774562s/17348308.jpg|21441527] by the same author and gave that 3 stars, but that was two years ago. Either the writing in that one was much better or my standards were much lower back then.

For months, I've been seeing Deeper We Fall on other blogs, on Amazon, on Goodreads....all over the place, so I jumped at the chance to be a part of its blog tour. I thought it sounded fantastic, and I wasn't disappointed. :D

The best part of Deeper We Fall was the characters! Both Zan (Alexander) and Lottie (Charlotte) were amazing characters and I loved getting to read the story in both of their points of view. :D I also loved their names...I'm such a sucker for great nicknames and Zan and Lottie were good ones! :D Their friends were also amazing...honestly all of the characters except for Zan's brother Zack were fantastic characters, and I loved the friendship between them all. Chelsea Cameron did an amazing job developing her secondary characters while still giving enough attention to Lottie and Zan, and I absolutely loved that...it also makes me super eager for book 2, Faster We Burn! :D

This book was mostly about internal struggles, and struggling to cope with the past and move forward. I really enjoyed seeing Lottie and Zan's relationship change and I loved how they helped each other heal. The only thing that kind of bugged me was when Lottie tried to keep Zan away...more than once. :P It was pretty much the only thing that bothered me throughout the whole book though, and thankfully it didn't last the whole book. :P haha

Overall, I really enjoyed Deeper We Fall. I thought the characters were amazing, and I loved the developing relationships between the main characters, Zan and Lottie, but I also loved the ones between the secondary characters. :D I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books from Chelsea Cameron because she does an amazing job at developing characters that you genuinely care about, and while the struggles got on my nerves at times, I still absolutely loved the characters and was rooting for them to finally be happy together. I'd recommend this one to those wanting to try something in the New Adult genre, and to those that enjoy character-driven plots and romances with happy endings. :)

Lottie's best friend was in a car accident with a creepy guy (Zack) and his brother (Zan, who is clearly interested in Lottie). Zan goes to some kind of facility for a year because he caused the accident by driving without a license (though not drunk). Now Lottie and her twin brother Will are at university -- the same one as Zack and Zan! Oh no! And her roommate is dating Zack! Oh DOUBLE no!

Zan still is obsessed with Lottie, Lottie is in love with Zan even though she doesn't want to be, Zack ups the creepy stakes every sentence, and every few pages we get a POV shift for no good reason, often in the middle of a conversation.

Because this book is "new adult" we get a lot of sex and swearing, neither particularly well done. All the characters are super gorgeous or hot. It is nice that Lottie has female friends, though the book is pretty straight and white.

The entirely unsurprising ending
has Zack rape Katie, Lottie's roommate, Zan admit that he wasn't driving the car which is fine because he let his drunk brother drive the car, and that's totally unobjectionable and now she can love him, and everyone ends paired up except Katie who is sort of dating this other guy but trauma/sequel.

It's sort of like[b:Easy|16056408|Easy|Tammara Webber|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1349370267s/16056408.jpg|19113823] by Tammara Webber in themes except that it sucks.

0.5/5

Deeper We Fall is a heart-breaking contemporary story, filled with guilt, and a very tentative path towards love.

Full review to come soon.
