Overall, The Blood Traitor, was a good wrap up to a pleasant series. This book focuses on forgiveness, love, found family, and growth. While it is a good book, it was likely my least favorite in the series. Some spoilers to follow: Character:
In this book you watch incredible growth of two characters: Kiva and Cresta. Kiva grows from a naive girl into a young woman as she battles addiction, grief, forgiveness, and learns to love herself. While Kiva is the main character making growth inevitable, Cresta transforms from an obvious Villain to the hero no one through they would need. Cresta faces her greatest fear: love. She grows to love and fight for those around her culminating in an epic battle no one could have seen coming.

Plot:
I will say this book left some plot points open. The biggest one being the queens addiction and abuse. It felt glossed over and like a side plot point to make other things happen such as Kiva getting the amulet and Jaren’s fear of drugs. It felt half written as if some of the story was yet to be told.

Overall, this book felt the most “young adult” due to its
happy ending and everyone getting to live out their dreams
. While good, this book lacked a certain amount of complexity.

super bonic quan t'enamoren els personatges. tots els secundaris devoren <3

la trope de perdre la màgia no m'agrada gens.. però dintre de tot, podria haver estat pitjor

rushed conflict resolution.. però ho accepto, típic de YA

such a sucker for happy endings
només em faltaria un epíleg 🥹

I feel like there should have been a lot more prison reform at the end, given what we saw in the first book.

One of the best fantasy YA romances I’ve ever read.
Heartbreaking at times, and definitely had some even darker themes in this book than the previous ones, but I couldn’t put it down.
Loved the story and am so glad that all the loose ends were tied up in such a great way. Will definitely miss the characters.

This was my favorite book in the series. All the characters came together, finished their arcs, and came into their own. I really liked how it ended and was pleasantly surprised by the twists.

I really enjoyed the romance, angst and all. No spoilers, but chapter 26 was my favorite!

I didn't love the feeling of being back where we started at first, but because it became important later and resolved quickly, I didn't mind it in the end. Sorry, vague I know, but don't want to spoil things!

I was impressed by how the author handled the darker themes she included in the series. She placed an emphasis on the fact that no matter how dark our life gets and no matter how many mistakes we make, we are stronger than the darkness and can be shaped by it instead of drowning in it. I think it's a perfect approach for a teen target audience.

I also listened to this whole book on audio after trying it out with book two. I thought it was well done and it was nice to be able to listen to it while I drove and get through it quicker (I have a very fast-reading buddy read partner).

This series probably won't be a favorite or a reread for me, but I think it's a solid YA fantasy series and I definitely enjoyed it!

Cute ending to a cute series. Wildly better than book 2, which was frankly a mess. Loved the characters, loved the sidequests, the plot was perfectly paced, and the ending wrapped up all loose ends nicely.
