"I don't know if anyone will ever get this message. But, if we fall, i want people to know that we fought. We fought like hell. Light against the darkness. The Green Lantern Corps went down swinging-- and trying to do some good. We fought to save the last survivors of a universe. We fought against nightmares. Darkness and teeth. We fought against the Blackest Knights. And, in the end standing on the edge of oblivion, we went with... Green Lantern Corps. Together. No fear."

wasn't planning in reading this but the Half Jordan GL comic was letting me down, still reading it though. But this is fantastic! Ben some twists and turns and some great moments with multiple Green Lanterns. Plus I'm actually starting to like Guy Gardner...what!? I didn't think an author could do that but Taylor's has succeeded in writing him in this comic. Hope Taylor stays with Green Lantern, a guy of his caliber is needed.

An interesting start to this story.

But the start gets off to a rocky start. There‰ЫЄs a really confusing, poorly worded sentence on the first page that had me scratching my head for the first several pages. But then I figured it out.

The rest of the writing is better. Not perfect. But better. Though the Corps makes some world-changing decisions pretty quickly. And Guy is still a doofus.

The art is good - I always love seeing the different members of the Corps.

I'd like to know how this dying universe ends up interacting with ours. I‰ЫЄll be reading #2.

Thanks to NetGalley and DC Comics for a copy in return for an honest review.

Pointlessly spinning wheels.

We discussed this series in our Green Lantern spotlight over on the All the Books Show: https://soundcloud.com/allthebooks/episode-251-green-lantern-is-80-years-young

Needs to be read before the Rebirth stuff with the Corps, but is positively tear-jerking in terms of its nobility in service to the story. No Jordan here, but all the other fan favorites are present: Guy Gardner, Kilowog, John Stewart, Simon Baz, Mogo, and a double-digit number of other characters are present here in a catastrophic and twisty cosmic story about another universe coming to an end and a people pushing back against what seems to be the inevitable. It's pretty, it's steeped in the mythology of the Corps, and it's a quick and emotionally satisfying read. You DO need some pretty solid knowledge of Lantern lore, though. Not really a jumping-on point.
