Definitely my least favorite so far. Nothing happens until the last 15% of the book. I'm also getting more and more annoyed with the soulmate situation here. This iteration of fae love seems to completely blind them to each other, they completely overlook faults instead of counterbalance each other and the "protective" instinct feels a lot more like a prison sentence than love, protection, or trust. The amount of times Rain beats up Gaelin for letting Elliesetta do something is getting a bit too repetitive.

Lol so basically same as my reviews of the previous books: I loved this book even more than the last!

I loved all the adventure in this book especially Elvia. I actually loved it more there than the Fading Lands.

I’m glad Kolis is back in this one. I kinda missed him! He’s my favourite villain in this series.

Ugh Queen Annoura is really getting on my nerves! She’s so toxic and always in victim mode.

This book is probably the where I cried the most! Haha
The emotional roller coaster that this book took me on I swear! Between Fellows almost dying, not knowing if Kieran is alive, Lillis’s mum being alive, Bel getting stabbed/not, Shan and Elfeya almost escaping, Ellie finally finding out about her parents, finding out Rain is gonna die in a month… I need a break haha

And the biggest emotional roller coaster: Adrial and Talisa’s tragic ending! Omfg. I cried so hard. It is really reminiscent of Greek tragedies. I was so hoping things would end well for them. I cried all the tears in my body.

I did not expect the book to end before the battle starts. I am really afraid for all my favourite supporting characters: Bel, Stelli, Fellows, Gaelin, Kieran.

Cannot wait to see what the final book has in store!

Now that the action has started, I am really enjoying this series.

I probably didn't enjoy [b:Queen of Song and Souls|3354025|Queen of Song and Souls (Tairen Soul, #4)|C.L. Wilson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1388566283s/3354025.jpg|14393754] quite as much as [b:King of Sword and Sky|3307144|King of Sword and Sky (Tairen Soul, #3)|C.L. Wilson|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1435044738s/3307144.jpg|3344324]. Not that it wasn't a great read, it is just that I occasionally found myself skimming paragraphs and wanting the protagonists to get on with it.

That said, I can't wait to find out what is happening/will happen to Lillis and Lorelle (and Kieren and Kiel) and just who Melliandra is. This is the fourth book in the Tairen Soul series. And like the others it picks up right where the previous book left off. This series is best if read back-to-back CL Wilson is not one to go back and recap events that happeneing in the previous books, but I can't fault her for that. Usually recapping slows a story down.

Queen of Song and Souls finds our characters in the middle of an ever growing war started nin King of Sword and Sky. While I really like the seris and I can't wait to see how the series ends and it will probably be a series I read over again, this entry just seemed a little stagnant.

I felt like there was a lot of stuff going on. Stuff going on at Celeria, in the Fading Mists, in Elderia, etc. but the furthering of the story is very little. A lot of things deal with the characters discovering things that we, the reader, already know and is just now being brought to the character's attention (i.e. Elysetta's parents). If I had known this was going to be the case I would say that we should have discovered these thruth along with the characters. This book just sweemed to hold the place of where the previous book was leading waiting for the next book to move forward.

Despite that I did really enjoy this book. I found myself just reading and reading and when I would stop I discovered I had read much further than I had intended in a sitting. I like being in this world. It's very realized and detailed. I really liked the forest detail of the Elf world that we are introduced to for the first time.

We do get a little glimpse of what is in store for Elysetta and Rain, but honestly it's just a little tidbit and nothing of real significance. I guess we should all be happy that the next book is the final in the series and all of our questions will be answered. Until Then!
