It was easy to immerse myself in this world after some time away. Made me want to reread the first one again. Enjoyed this one a lot. The angst was great. The smut was fun and there is some plot.

YES YES YES
THIS ONE WAS MY FAVE IN THE SERIES SO FAR
I LOOOOVED ALEX
AND EVEN THOUGH AUZED WAS GRUMPY AND SIMILAR TO THE OTHER CLECANIANS, HE COMMUNICATED! Like actually talked about what to expect and their relationship felt real and blossomed appropriately and I LOVE these two together! I liked the side characters and the queens sneaky intervention, and Wilson and the fake dating and ugh yes this book was perfect. So much so I want to go back and change the star ratings of book 2 and 3 down a bit.. I probably should but I also don’t really want to , it’s just compared to this one… like I LOVED their story. Yes. Ugh. Phenomenal
Update I did in fact lower them down to a 4 after rereading me reviews and comparing them to this one. Book 2 had a lot of miscommunication and book 3 had a lot of lying (to eachother), meanwhile this book they were open and honest and were trying their best in a bad situation and they were understanding with eachother even though it was breaking their hearts and I LOVED these two together! The mating bond kicking in at the end after they chose to be together already was amazing because it was rejoiced and not considered a “bad” thing like it had been in book 2 and 3 by the females. Not Alex was HAPPY when Auzeds marks showed and I was so happy for them!
The little story about Zed hurting himself because Theo was depressed about his scars and wanted to make him feel better about them. Literally, my whole heart exploded.

Classic forced proximity/marriage of convenience. Loved the dynamic and the forward - impulsive FMC. Enjoyable and adorable, as all the books in this series are. But each one is better than the last and unique enough with great world building.
