The messaging on queerness and not wanting to hide while also wanting to find true love was front and center of this book. Mix that with the brutality of the main characters "appetite" and attempt to understand human ways, things get complicated. This is a quirky and quick read that was both playful and heartbreaking.

A wild, queer story! I found Mumu to be relatable, despite being an alien and serial killer. Their trouble with stairs, their loneliness and desire to be loved, and their frustration with their circumstances were all things I related to and have experienced. I kept hoping they would make a friend but circumstances I suppose I would not allow it.

Absolutely brilliant, gross, visceral, weird, sexy sci-fi! Super strong narrator voice and unique text stylization. A fascinating explanation of humanity, monstrosity, and the overlap between the two, all with a deliciously queer perspective. Highly recommend!!!

What a book. What a book!!! Might just have found me a life favorite. Humorous and heartfelt, it's a book I desperately want to give a proper review to, but I can't right now, and maybe I shouldn't anyway because it really is best if you go into it knowing as little as possible. It's so much more than it seems and it surprised me in the most positive of ways. Just what I was looking for.

Loved the audiobook and narrator! Love the
translator's note
at the end as well (not sure if this counts as a spoiler so I'll mark it as such just in case).

Need a physical copy so bad!

Holy bodily hell!! This book is not in fact like squid games unless you are imaging a giant gender less squid playing games with humanity. Yeah, that’s not what you thought, huh? I’d say this gave me more Jamaica Kincaid’s Girl meets Dostoyevsky’s Notes from the Underground meets Kang and Kodos from the Simpsons. Weird, queer, explicit, and thought provoking; I’m glad I was recommended to read this!
