Elizabeth i jej ogród by Elizabeth von Arnim

No i cudowna oprawa książki z ilustracjami.

A few bon mots here and there, but mostly I felt kind of sorry for Elizabeth and couldn't really believe that she was quite as happy as she says she is.

It was just really nice to read a book from the perspective of a woman from 150 years ago who loves her garden and was very contempt with it. I connect to that aspect of the author, which was very refreshing and unexpected.

There’s the occasional comments and entries that highlight the oppression of women we expect with the 1800’s, but overall it was a really light, humorous read.

Found her rude and snobby and the Man of Wrath deeply irritating. Alas, not as delightful as An Enchanted April!

Quite funny at times. Very well written, interesting reflections here and there, some I did not quite grasp elsewhere. Lovely thoughts on nature, and always her gratitude. I really liked the descriptions of her relationship with Irais.
