I have enjoyed reading all of [a:Jennifer Weiner|9212|Jennifer Weiner|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1175639513p2/9212.jpg]'s novels, and this book was no exception. This is the story of two young women who grew up as best friends but lost their friendship and most communication in their later high school years. After a troubled encounter at their high school reunion, they find themselves together again, and the book turns into a Thelma and Louise-type escapade, with flashbacks into their lives when things were both good and terrible between them.

To be completely honest, this is my least favorite of all the books I've read by Weiner. Although her writing is still clever and witty, and her prose engaging, this storyline just seemed to fall a bit flat for me. I feel as though it's a old story being retold by yet another writer, and while I completed my reading of this book in a matter of a day, it didn't resonate for me the way her other novels have. If I hadn't read her previous novels, I wouldn't feel as though this was the best representation of her as an author. If you're new to Jennifer Weiner, start with her other books and work your way to this one. The others are well worth the time, and will keep you reaching for the next one by her.

I have not read anything by Jennifer Weiner since her first book, Good in Bed. I liked that book a lot; it was an adult fairy tale set in Philly. I liked the romance part and the fact I knew the place. I had high hopes it would be a movie, but that was unrealistic. How many movies have an overweight heroine?

I don't have a good reason to have missed the other books that Weiner has written. There are just too many books. Best Friends Forever was in our beach house, so I thought I would give Weiner another try.

I found this novel to be a perfect beach read. Enough plot, action and romance to keep me turning the pages, but it did not totally engage my brain. Since I am trying to keep my brain turned off, this was fine. I wish that the story was a bit more realistic, but I don't think that is what Weiner writes.

I have to admit that pieces of dialog keep popping up in my brain. I am impressed that of all the books I read on my two week vacation, this one is the one I am remembering.

I recommend this book to others looking for escape; to those who like women's fiction and to anyone who disliked high school. I won't give away the plot, so you will have to read it to understand the last group.

A quick reflective read on the lives of two best friends who are reunited after years of disconnect. I wish we could have seen
Jordan and Addie grow their relationship more
. But overall a good read

I wanted a light book to read while I was on vacation. This was it. However, the storylines got a little out of hand. I wish she had just focused on Addie and Val’s relationship. I really enjoyed the back and forth between the younger years and present day. But the added storylines with Dan, Vijay, and Jordan? Completely unnecessary. The ending felt so forced, like in the last 30 pages she realized that she had to wrap it up.
