I was pleasantly surprised at this sweet story. It did not have the predictable plot often found in early chapter books. Instead, there was a heartwarming tale filled with puppies and wonderfully developed characters, including an introvert whose traits are celebrated rather than "fixed." A real stand-out book in a large field of pet-themed chapter book series.
