This is such a fun book! It captures the essence of the tv show very well, yet uses the comics format to create additional humor goodness. Finn and Jake have misadventure after misadventure while traveling through time and then somehow have to fix the robot apocalypse they inadvertently spawn. There are so many easter eggs, including call backs to the original pilot episode of the series! Although this book is clearly aimed at children, it has sly satiric content for adults, too. The cover gallery has some wonderful variations to enjoy. If you long for new episodes of Adventure Time, this is a great way to satisfy your hunger.
The Adventure Time comics may even surpass the show. Because there is no time constraints, the writers of the comics can tell a complete story and allow the reader to explore the world of Ooo. This particular volume involves time-travel, evil robots, and some really great Jake the dog moments. Looking forward to volume 3!
This was part of the TBR I had for #GettingGraphic and I very much enjoy the whimsy and madness of this series. This continued in the same vein as the first in the series which was great as I loved the first one. Once more we're in the weird but wonderful Adventure Time world, but now we see a bit more of it.
I definitely still enjoy this a whole load, I just didn't feel like it quite lived up to the awesome colourific madness of the first for me, but it was still a solid 4* read.
