I'm giving this a 3.75 star as I'd personally would've liked a more adult version. However for kids this is spot on. Also I wouldn't like to see it written by someone from the culture of the story. Not that the author did a bad job, but that would be my personal preference. Maybe it was the voice actor but it felt like it was written by a old white british man? Which it was not so that confused me a little. Maybe not the best pick of voiceactor then.
However this book gave me a lot of new insights. I never knew of this story before and this book was a great introduction to stories that could be incredibly interesting to learn more about. That the story of Noah is inspired by a story that is told in this book kinda blew my mind. I grew up thinking that Noah was a fact, and in the recent years I figured out it was most likely a fable and now to find out it wasn't even an original story. That absolutely was news to me that I am glad to have learned from this book.
Also I think from a philosophical point this book is great as it has so many ideas you could talk about.
Though the childlike nature of the book did make everything seem less dramatic?? As I am sure tearing up little girls like little paper dolls didn't mean bullying them a little... So that's why I'd like to read an adult version maybe oneday that goes in on the story a bit more.
