Holland Came across as a bit too crazy for me... Her actions made no sense... a bit of a strange read, But i was laughing out loud in the humorous way it was written

Not a bad story by any means but probably one of my least favorite Christina Lauren stories.

A perfectly fine reread, bit of a preposterous set of circumstances (Prodigies abound! Perfect Broadway reviews and awards! Perfect family who pays your rent and floats you a cushy job! Big immediate success after submitting ONE piece to the New Yorker!), but angsty enough that it had me stay up all night to finish it in one go.

In spite of the lighthearted fluffiness of it, there were a few lines that REALLY packed a punch and I feel like I reread this at kinda the right time:

I only get one shot at this, and right now, I'm finding my value only in being valuable to others. How do I find value for me?

"the most important part is that I didn't feel like my job had to be my everything ." This is what I have to keep reminding myself. Sometimes a job can just be a job.

"Calvin is lucky because he has a job he loves and he has you. This gives you room to find yourself, and figure out what you want your life to look like."
So grateful to have such a supportive and PATIENT partner who similarly supports me on my going-on-six-years of burnout 😭😭😭

"I get why it would be weird for you that I'm not totally, one hundred percent available anymore, but I'm really happy and I feel like you're not happy for me."
This was literally the crux of a difficult friend breakup oooof...
fast-paced

this has been my second christina lauren book, the first being the unhoneymooners and i must day that this book was pretty much on the same level! i would say i prefered the story of olive and ethan however that book was brought down half a star due to the lack of ✨naughty✨ scenes - of which this book did have! (although not in great detail they did suffice)

j loved this story! the ending made me cry and i loved the idea! (it reminded me kinda of alba and jorge from jane the virgin lol)

i honestly thought i’d get bored with the story once they got together (as usual with books lol) but honestly it did keep me hooked! and i was thinking about it during the day! which is a good sign!

the only reason this book didn’t make it into the 5 star category is that i’m not sure i would reread it. and i only books that i want to reread the second after i’ve finished can make it into that category sadly enough!

i can’t believe i’ve waited this long to read christina lauren books if i’m honest! and now i’ve started i don’t think i can stop hehe!

would definetly reccomend! (also i love her uncles so much! there just something about the gay uncles who are the dads that everyone wants
