3.7 AVERAGE

fast-paced

Let me write my review in my own language hahaha
Entah kenapa gak suka sama ceritanya. Tema ceritanya sih bagus, fake marriage turn to love marriage. Tapi pembawaan ceritanya not my cup of tea. Lambat banget terus bertele-tele terus gak jelas gitu. Kayak menurutku ada part yang masih bolong disana sini.
Sedih sih sebenarnya setiap kasih bintang dibawah tiga padahal rata-rata scorenya 3.9 lho. Tapi namanya juga selera sih ya, kalo aku gak suka ya mau gimana lagi.

Roomies is an adorable novel that is about Holland, who has a big crush on a subway performer Calvin. After helping him get him offered his dream job, they get married to allow him to stay in the country. What follows is a funny, sexy, and addicting adventure in love.
Holland is a really lovable narrator and I related to her story in a way I think many people can relate to and Calvin is A plus book boyfriend (or in this case husband) material, with a lovable Irish charm I was hooked from the start.
I really loved how much of the book was about Broadway and centers around theater culture as well as the beauty of music as a uniting force. The side characters weren't hard to keep track of like they are in other books for me.
My only complaint is that there isn't more of it. I've read many Christina Lauren books and this one is now my favorite.

Cute

3.5 instead of the usual 4 stars for this Christina Lauren just because the premise is a little bit unrealistic and therefore the plot lacked in some parts for me. I did love Robert and Jeff tho!

Not my favorite… I think this just isn’t my author… I’m a closed door/ easy to make closed door girly though, so that’s on me.

Fun read, especially if one likes the marriage of convenience / sharing a space tropes, but the visa storyline is widely unrealistic - suspend disbelief. Several moments got me laughing at loud.
The narrator’s stilted American accent was annoying at times, I wished she had read the entire book with her Irish accent, which sounds way more fluid.
