I really love that so many seems to hate David Sedaris, it makes me wanna hang around with him in a bar talking trash about everybody else too "sophisticated" while drinking cheap whine.

This has been my favourite of Sedaris’ books thus far. It’s just the most complete of the bunch to my mind, encapsulating many times in one’s life.
Poignant, wry and laugh out loud funny in equal measure.

Funnier when read aloud by David himself.

not too much to note here, other than Sedaris is hilarious and this lighthearted read was perfect to counterbalance some other heavies that i was in the middle of. the anecdotes of his life are shared unapologetically, which i found endearing, even if the stories themselves were cringey (in the sense of him having actually lived them). neat background to read of a person who is SO successful now, but who has a background riddled with indecision, random odd jobs, and (highly amusing) trial and error.
