It seemed like there would be enemies to lovers and a fated love to cause tension but both of those stories didn't have any payoff for all the building up of them.

This was a page turner, a well written young adult read!

Cons for me were poor editing ( many typos and inconsistent jargon ) and I got annoyed with Aaron's character constantly wanting to give up (but that may just be the intent of the character's personality, he lacked in growth in that area for me). The back and forth between Nick and Aaron with the quick ending was a little awkward for me, it didn't feel like it flowed well and like there were gaps.

Otherwise wonderfully immersive settings, quite fun jumping times, and absolutely lovable characters. I would love to read the next book in this series.

i like the concept of this but was bored and confused for most of the book, plus the characters felt a little flat for me. the last part of the book was where the plot got interesting, but i still felt like something was missing.
i also wasn't a huge fan of the writing style as well. i think this book read more like middle grade rather than young adult, and it was missing that extra little finesse. however, i'll cut the author some slack since this is a debut novel - so props to her!!
