Good fast read. The books are not making me as happy as they used to. I started reading them last year around this time and I couldn't get to the next one quick enough! They made me smile and I liked that. Now they drag on and I get confused as to where people are and who people are. And really what DID happen in this book?

This Charlie Bone isn't quite as good as the Wilderness Wolf, but still pretty good. Once Charlie escapes from the Badlock,the plot really gets going. Then when Tancred 'dies' we have a real climax point building, because there are ever so many more things they can do with the Bloors thinking Tancred is dead (most of that in the last book). Matilda is wonderful, and Jenny Nimmo writes about Badlock very well.

I enjoyed this series overall though it did get a little long. I was a little sad to discover after finishing the seventh book that in just a couple of months the final book in the series was due to be released. I guess that just gives me the opportunity to live the adventure again in a few years when I've conveniently forgotten everything that happens.

Re-read after many years...
Less fun than other installments in my opinion, we were in Bloor's academy for like a hot two seconds and didn't get a lot from a lot of characters :/
Otherwise, I can't fault what we were given from the characters and the cuteness of Emma and Tancred xD

this is such a good series. I think the idea is very original and I enjoy the characters. I also like that I cannot always tell what is going to happen. Looking forward to the next.
