Not bad. The idea was really cool, but I felt that it could have been executed better.

It was interesting to read this as an aspiring writer, but the timing was bad. I typically struggle with quest stories; and that, coupled with busy weeks at work, made my progress with this book way too slow than my liking, which ultimately affected the experience.

My enjoyment of the book itself could be 4 stars or higher. I love the writing style, despite struggling to keep up with it at times, but I especially love the characters. Switching between POVs is tiring (which, again, is a "me" issue), but they're well fleshed out, and their banters are entertaining. I wished the book had been written in first person rather than third, though. Would have been interesting to literally be inside their heads.

I'm not big on piecing the puzzles together, but I know I would have more fun reading this book had I been more adept at that. Still, when the reveal came, I wasn't surprised, given how well thought each character is. But it's not that the book is predictable; it's more like a "oh. Yeah, makes perfect sense," kind of reaction.
