Me ha gustado mucho. Me ha enganchado enseguida.
Es interesante como aún siendo de los 90 habla del mismo racismo que vemos hoy. No ha cambiado nada. En ese sentido es muy actual.
El misterio me ha tenido intrigade hasta el final.

So I met a Swedish guy at a party (I know this sounds like the beginning of a bad joke but bear with me) and we got to talking about books. Based on some mutual author-interests, he recommended I read Swedish crime-writer Mankell. This isn't the first book featuring Mankell's character Kurt Wallander, but it paints a nice picture of the inspector. Mankell's writing style is heavy on introspection and mapping emotional landscapes, so if you're looking for a summer-blockbuster book, this isn't it. It reminded me of Giles Blunt's work, but Mankell is more prolific; good thing, because I plan on reading more Mankell!

Kurt Wallander does his investigation by just knowing things. He just knows this is the guy they're looking for, he just knows this other man has information they need, he just knows if someone is lying or telling the truth. One or maybe two times I can excuse, but it happened so much that eventually I just didn't buy it anymore.
Another thing bugging me a bit is that we don't get all the answers in the end. Yes they find the culprits and they learn the motive, but a lot of the murder itself remains unanswered.
Also do swedes (or the swedish police) really drink that much coffee? They were drinking a coffee like every two pages.
