1 year later re-read update: omg this is is slowest slow burn everrrrrrr. Really good otherwise!

Such a great start to a series!

This is such a fantastic start to a series! Dejar and Kalyn are a great couple and I really enjoyed seeing their story come together. There are a lot of interesting characters, and I’m really curious to see who will end up with whom.

The romance is slow burn, and the two mains have a lot in common. The overarching plot line was interesting - no cliff hanger, but definitely hanging threads to be picked up in future novels.

It was boring. These people are the worst smugglers in the universe, and the relationship between MCs felt more like friendship than love. They don’t even kiss for most of the book, and when they have sex it’s super awkward. None of the questions raised during the story are answered at all, so this does not have a HEA, but a HFN. The world was very uninteresting so I won’t continue with this series.

Had potential, but didn’t quite deliver. The relationship wasn’t shown enough on page for love to be professed imo; there was talk about the time passing, so it wasn’t insta-love or -lust, but I didn’t see them take enough steps to feel the declaration. The plot was interesting enough that I decided to read the next book, plus it was on KU.
