Wilde really has the audacity to make me crave the whimsical life of a 19th century tory... This felt more like his intrusive thoughts, with plot sprinkled in every 30 pages. Still enjoyed it though

phenomenal classic would’ve given it five stars except gay men hate women more than anyone else can apparently.

Satisfied with how the ending turned out. The characters are distinctly fascinating but I couldn't agree with almost all of them. So much flaws in the characters -Dorian, Henry, Basil, Silby, and Jim, that I couldn't root for any one of them. I could only feel pity, sometimes disgust, and most of the time confusion, with their thoughts and actions. I do think the characters' realism are somewhat believable and that they can exist in reality.

Currently not a fan of the extensive use of flowery words (adjectives and adverbs) to describe scenes and expression of thoughts and feelings in the book. I must admit I skipped some of those paragraphs as they might help in trying to understand what the character is going through but do not help in the progression of the plot (which is what I was more concerned about in my first read).

Didn't like the main character Dorian and am glad he got what he got in the end. I don't think justice was served for everyone involved - which I know is what also happens in real life, but it just doesn't feel good to the reader (me).

Overall, I liked this book and how the story went. Will give this one a re-read in the future but I'll leave it for now.
