Kinda liked it?
Loved it? Not sure uh.
The beginning is a bit slow just like SIX OF CROWS.
I was tired of Alina and Mal running and running.
But the last three chapters were so fast and I was really hyperventilating lol.

On to the second book now.

I absolutely loved this book!! It was very slow to begin with, but once the pace started to pick up a bit I literally couldn’t put it down. It was my first ever fantasy book as an adult reader and I will definitely be reading more fantasy now because I have been hugely missing out!! I absolutely loved the main character and even though the plot twist seems so obvious, I didn’t see it coming at all. The darkling was very interesting and I loved Alina and Genya’s friendship. I wasn’t too keen on Mal but he grew on me. Very excited to read the next book of the Grisha trilogy!!

I find it hard to believe this is by the same author as Six of Crows, even though it obviously is. The writing in this one was so much more basic, and I was so bored by both that and the unoriginal plot. I like the world, so was really disappointed by this. Maybe it was designed for younger readers than SoC.

"Just. be careful.' I stared at her, baffled. 'Of what?' 'Of
powerful men."

This book taught me that my moral compass is way off and I’d 100% be the first to die in one of these fantasy universes.

After trying to start this and stopping so many times this was the one that stuck the first 25% Is hard TK get through but then suddenly picks up I finally made it to that point and am so glad I did!
