A bit better. I appreciate it when there is some actual story. And this one had bits of that for Hanajima and Uotani. But still not enough. And I still can barely tell the characters one from the other. But still readable. 3.5 of 5.

A little more unpacking of the mysterious Sohma clan in this one but still so much I'm struggling to remember! I remembered Kureno straight away but quite unhappy with
the relationship between him and Uo for obvious reasons
. I looooved the
Tohru/Kyo
interactions we got here. The first time I read this I assumed she would end up with
Yuki
and it's a lot more fun reading this knowing who she actually ends up with. The school council stuff doesn't really interest me but I also loved the Hana backstory. It's such a great contrast seeing how loving her family is compared to the Sohmas. Megumi is the world's best little brother.

The two big things that happen in this Volume is finding out about Hana's past (and it's sad, but delightful when Tohru and Arisa come into it) and hearing some more about the fate of the cat- there's plenty of questions left unanswered in this one and I can't wait to reread the answers in the later Volumes.

This volume actually made me quite teary! Saki's backstory was really great (and emotional) to read about, and because of that this volume was better than some of the others.
Nervous to read the next volume. Apparently Akito comes for a visit (dammit).

This one kind of dragged, but I did like learning more about Hana's history and life.

I needed this after reading my last read. And entering the Fruits Basket world again was honestly so refreshing
