The Westing Game

Not what I was expecting? Idk, my sister had hyped it up. It’s an interesting read but I wasn’t really captivated at all… I was reading it as a possible novel study for my students. With all the positive reviews maybe I made it to be more than it was. I might have to give it another try…

I didn’t know I’d like this so much, but I’m so pleased. It’s definitely geared towards kids—but curious ones. I would’ve soaked this up as a youngster. It’s a mystery novel with twists and turns that I felt like I was solving as the reader.

Basically…
Sixteen strangers, chosen as potential heirs to a millionaire's fortune, participate in a game to solve his supposed murder and inherit his wealth. The heirs are divided into pairs and given a set of clues, with the goal of figuring out who among them is the murderer and ultimately, who is the rightful heir. The characters form alliances, compete, and reveal hidden connections to Westing as they unravel the mystery. The mystery is solved through clever detective work, unexpected twists, and the revelation that Westing's death was not what it seemed.

Boom!
