I have not been so happy to finish a book in a long time. Maybe in the time this book was written, it would've been worthy of all of the attention it got. Now, however, it was like an agonizingly slow children's Agatha Christy without the intrigue. I liked the last 10%... even then maybe only because I was close to finished.

The Westing Game is one of those perfect mysteries where all the clues are there for you to see, but you still get so swept up in it that you're on the edge of your seat and never see it coming.
As someone else mentioned this reminded me of Agatha Christie, specifically Murder on the orient express, which to be fair is the only Agatha Christie novel I've read thus far. It seems similar I think because for most of the book there is one person who seems to be in step with the mystery that you can follow and admire, but even more so because there are so many unique characters in the book that you are trying to figure out who did it. I won't put any spoilers but other common threads are in both books. If you liked one I imagine you would like the other.
What I didn't like as much was that it was difficult to keep track of all the characters when listening as an audiobook. I think this is the case with most books that have so many "main" characters. Since I image most people will read in printed or e-book form this will probably be less of an issue there (I imagine at least). I think its the kind of book that could benefit from a 2nd and 3rd reading (seemed dense with clues and details that I most likely missed on my first pass).
