I love classic mysteries but had never heard of this! My middle schooler hadn’t either, but one of his friends at another school read this and did a huge project on it! There are dated pieces, of course, but this is a fun and well crafted character study. The reveals had more to do with the characters than the murder. You could feel it was meant for youth in the end though. Too perfectly tied in a bow.

Despite being classified as children’s novel, this is a mystery book anyone can enjoy
Finally got around to reading this classic. This was a fun read with a ton of characters and twists. I will admit that the revelations happened just a little too quickly for me, but I'm also inexperienced in the mystery genre so perhaps I'm off base. I really enjoyed that while this is a children's book, Raskin never talks down to her audience. A story that can be enjoyed at any age.
Slow beginning, but as soon as they entered the mansion for a second time I could not put the book down.
