An intricate and twisty YA classic that calls to mind (and was almost surely called upon for) The Inheritance Game series. Only it’s better - smarter, better written, and skips the spice yet is more adult for it. It’s about the puzzle, and the puzzle is about everything. A slippery little fish, this story, it’s Knives Out for the young adult crowd.

This was a good mystery! The perfect blend of providing all the clues so I could have figured it out on my own, but I didn't and was still surprised! Very fun!

Crazy short nonsensical book fun don’t take anything too seriously
adventurous mysterious medium-paced

This was a fun, kid's locked-room mystery! It had some interesting twists and turns. The thing I didn't love and attribute to this being an older book...there was a lot of dated language and some oddly racist comments and situations. Just be aware if that's something that would turn you away from a book.

A delightful mystery that keeps you guessing until the end. A lot like the Clue board game. Reminds me of THE INHERITANCE GAMES series too.
