Enjoyable mystery! It's a good book for encouraging kids to use detective skills to crack the case before it's revealed.
The idea of a rich guy conning a bunch of people into joining his social experiment is really unnerving.
I really need books to stop having more than 10 characters if they are all underdeveloped. I get it’s a murder mystery and you need to have a lot of suspects but I really can’t stand it! It was a good idea but poorly executed. But also it’s a children’s book so I’m not necessarily the target audience.
the amount of times 'oriental' appeared within like 3 pages plus other weird racial things put me off. sure, it's a product of its time but also it's not even engaging enough for me to want to keep going.
