There are four things I love about this book:
1. Good world-building and impressive magic system, I love the idea of cards so much
2. Elm :)))) Oh my God, he is such a drama queen 💅✨
3. Ravyn Yew as a character, he is very sweet, calm and caring to Elspeth. He after they confessed their feeling *chef's kiss*
4. The Nightmare, he is giving a daddy sassy vibe. This conversation between him and Elspeth reminds me of the famous sound: "You tricked me. No, I saved you" so it was quite amusing to read. But why he had to speak in riddles???!
You see how I don't say anything about the romance? It's a romantic fantasy right? Right? I'm asking for a friend. Because it is so weird. It's not a slow burn. It's a no burn and then BAM⎯fire. Who set the fire? Who is the f**king arson? Definitely not two main characters :)

Siis aika jebulis, luin melkeen koko kirjan yhteen päivään mut sit vikat 60 sivua jäi roikkumaan melkeen 2kk ennen kun sain itteeni niskasta kiinni ja luin loppuun. It was a rough start for me but then I started to get into it! A fantasy novel with medical themes, kings that hold “providence cards” with special powers and a plague that makes people have powers but also leads them to be killed by the king. The only way to cure the plague might be bringing all the cards together and the only way to get the cards is to do so in secret using the powers of those who are currently plagued.
