It was nice having a couple my age to read about. While I've been lucky with no hot flashes, I can relate to most of the things the heroine is going through. The hero is a nice guy trying to figure out his life as he's aging out of his profession.  There is no OW drama, no too young for their ages thoughts.
It is a nice enjoyable read.

I mean, there’s not a heck of a lot of plot going on and whatever plot exists is really just not doing it for me.

I’m apathetic about this story, is what I’m getting at.

“Olivia, you came into my life like a dozen slashes straight to the chest”

This was a fun beginning to a new series, Hot Flash Hookup. Olivia has been invited to her ex husband’s wedding in Belize and her children expect her to go and with a date. So her daughter sets her up with her best friend’s dad, Roman.

Roman is a professional hockey player who will do anything for his daughter so no big deal if he spends a week fake dating a woman if it makes his daughter happy. He just never expected Olivia to be his perfect match.

Olivia and Roman were adorable together. Perfect in such an imperfect situation and a great introduction to Roman’s teammates as I assume their stories are coming next. I can’t wait for more hot flashes and hockey slashes!

Thank you @authormarikaray for the ARC!

So much fun to read!

I read this book on a whim based on the fun blurb hoping for a light and breezy rom-com, but I got so much more than that!

This storyline had me laughing, sympathizing, cringing and more. When Olivia gets the invitation to her ex-husband’s destination wedding to a woman she didn’t even know he was dating has her calling her best friend up to chat about burying his body over decaf coffee. When her teenage daughter and her college roommate tell her they already have plan for her fake plus one Olivia really starts to worry.

Roman is the oldest hockey player in the NHL and between ice baths and achy muscles and joints he’s looking for a chance to get himself back in his daughter’s good graces after missing some important events. He jumps at the chance to spend a week in Belize with her even if it involves being someone’s fake date at a wedding.

This book was addictive fun, with engaging and relatable characters, and an emotionally satisfying romance. It doesn’t hurt that the steam wasn’t just due to the tropical location, and definitely due to the sizzling connection between Olivia and Roman.

I’m super eager to read more by these authors!

I hate-read this book.
The MMC's mother was the best character - and she only appeared via text messages.
The hockey/lockerroom stuff was hilariously wrong & bad, and the way the authors beat the reader over the head with the menopause storyline was silly. The FMC is supposed to be a smart, successful business owner - but she can't dress herself or comb her hair?
Come on.
The MMC sees the FMC as a disaster when they meet - he's of course, a total Adonis - and yet agrees to this fake wedding date with Pygmalion vibes to earn favor with his semi-estranged daughter? What a saint.
The talk about puck bunnies and the back-handed reference to consent really had me astonished that women wrote this book.
The guy lined up for book two is .... well, good luck redeeming that trash.
